We believe in the importance of training our workers.

For effective, long term ministry, it is essential that we take the time to prepare well. All DNI workers go through our training program at the Ministry Training Center in New York City.

We also provide a training program called RESTORE, a trauma-based training committed to equipping our women to facilitate the restoration of women in hard places.

Even if you are just starting on your journey, there are many ways that you can start preparing. Click here to see where to get started.

We believe in the importance of supporting our workers.

God designed us to be in relationship with Him and others. When we try to “go it alone” things go wrong. Christ came to restore the broken relationship with the Father, broken by mankind’s sin and independent attitude.

In addition, the Bible doesn’t speak about individual Christianity. Instead, as members of the body of Christ we are interdependent on each other to survive, grow and function. We believe this interdependence is especially pertinent for cross-cultural church planters.

DNI provides a support structure for its workers through field directors, mentors, and counselors. We also work closely with sending churches to ensure they are cared for spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Our Training Institutions:

MTCinNYC

The Ministry Training Center (MTC) prepares workers to serve among unreached peoples and provides exposure to urban ministry in the cross-cultural setting of Queens, New York.

Restore Training is a trauma-based training committed to equipping our women to facilitate the restoration of women in hard places. Our vision is to see Anabaptist women receiving the healing and redemption of Jesus in their own lives and then moving with Jesus’ power into the stories of trafficked and vulnerable women.

Restore offers training in trauma and crisis care, counseling, crisis pregnancy, anti-trafficking, and issues related to Muslim women. We host the Hands that Heal seminar online through the Faith Alliance against Slavery and Trafficking, equipping women engaging in counter-trafficking efforts. We also host webinars periodically, pulling in experienced women for specific topics such as Healthy Sexuality or Redemptive Interventions. Depending on the trainee’s choice of the three certificates we offer, they may participate in six weeks of Bible School and Long-Term Orientation in NYC. We pair trainees with experienced coaches, who facilitate the training process and help them navigate the outsourced training materials.

If you’re a pastor’s wife, cross-cultural worker, or simply feel the call to learn more about how to enter into suffering, Restore Training might be for you. We are accepting trainees anytime throughout the year to enter the program at the trainee’s convenience and depending on coach availability. It is a self-paced program that takes approximately 6 months.
