We Train Send Support Teams.
We believe in the importance of equipping and caring for our workers. God designed us to be in relationship with Him and others. As members of the body of Christ we are interdependent on each other to grow and thrive. We believe this interdependence is especially pertinent for cross-cultural church planters. Here are some ways that we provide you with the support that you need as you take the Gospel to the world’s unreached people groups.
Workers on the front line of spiritual battle need faithful intercessors who will support them spiritually. We actively recruit intercessors to pray for DNI workers and the unreached people they are serving. For more information about the prayer support we provide, visit the “Pray” page.
We operate under the faith missions model, which means that we make needs known and trust God to provide. Workers share their vision and explain the financial model to their support base, but don’t make direct appeals for funds. We forward all allocated funds to workers via monthly payroll. As funds are available in the Undesignated Worker Support Fund, we also help undersupported workers beyond the designated support they receive. Our goal is that each worker has the funds they need to do ministry where God has called them.
For more information about our financial model, visit the “DNI Financial Model” page.
Caring for our workers is one of our highest priorities. That is why the majority of our administrative time, energy, and resources are invested in member care. This includes personal care such as one to one check-ins, vacation time, debriefing, field visits, counseling services and more.
All workers are part of the DNI family. No matter where God is calling you to serve, we try to cultivate a family feel and provide ways for you to connect with the extended DNI family. This is a network of workers, board members, and a broader network of supporters.
We believe that our effectiveness depends on our willingness to grow. We want DNI to be a place where each person is continuing to grow in every area of life. We make resources available so that this can happen, including both pre-field training as well as ongoing development while serving on the field.
Even though accountability might not seem like a worker benefit, we believe that it is. The way we see accountability, it is a structure that facilitates all of the above. It keeps you connected to those that are supporting you and is the means of us providing you with the care that you need. It also reminds us that we are all committed and accountable to the vision and values that unite us. Visit the “About” page to learn more.
Returning to your sending community can often be more challenging than the initial adjustments to cross-cultural ministry. We want to make sure you have the resources you need to enter the next phase of life when God calls you on from DNI.
